Although Kapanol contains morphine, people who take morphine for a long time to treat their pain rarely become addicted to it. Dose Advice of Kapanol:
Kapanol is a slow release formulation of morphine, which means it only needs to be given once or twice a day.

The usual initial dose of Kapanol in patients who have never had opioid medications is 40 mg every 24 hours or 20 mg every 12 hours.

In patients who have previously been on opioid medication the dose will vary.
